THE DRAMA, LITERARY AND DEBATING CLUB A.K.A "THE EAGLE"

Drama as a discipline and human phenomenon ha always been with man from time immemorial. Drama has been seen and appraised as the imitation of an actor, or the reenactment of an action aimed at arousing the sensibilities and awareness of those who are opportune to partake in it.

Apart from its other numerous rules, drama entertains its spectators while at the same time educating and concretizing them into a new realization % their sordid situations and existence. No warder William shake spear said “No one can see his own eyes, unless by reflection of other things” such as the mirror. Drama is consequently a solitary mirror.

In Jephthah comprehensive secondary school, Port-Harcourt, Nigeria the Drama club is a serous business, both to management and students. Hence through the magnanimity of the school Administrator we have a very rich wardrobe with a variety of costumes.

In Jephthah , the drama club has always been on ground to pass across the needed information to the audience on special Occasions and periods like Easter, Independence days, Democracy day Christmas season, etc. past events of these periods are rekindled in the minds of the audience by the dramas presented on these days by the members of the club.

In 2005 and 2006 the club was guest to the rival state's national commission of micseun and monuments to present drama, choral dance and poetry recitation. Further more, on the 23 rd of July 2006 the group presented a cultural dance on NTA A.M. Express, which was beamed to millions of viewers of N.TA programmes worldwide.

The club encourage the semesters to face huge grade, no matter how supplicated.

The coordinator of the drama club is the present Head of department: English Language /Arts in the person of Pastor Charles Araunah and Mrs. Benjamin Fidelia.
